Please read these Terms of Use carefully as they apply to your use of the St Cecilia School of Music Pacific Online Website (the Website) operated by St Cecilia Examinations Pty Ltd (St Cecilia). By using the Website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. We may amend these Terms of Use at any time. Your continued use of the Website is deemed to be acceptance of the amended Terms of Use.
To enrol in and gain access to a Course Module, you must pay the relevant Course Module Fee by one of the means provided on the Website for payment of fees.
Enrolment in and Access to a Course Module will be confirmed and activated only after you Register and pay the relevant Course Module Fee. Confirmation of Registration and receipt of payment will be by return email to the email address you provided at registration.
Activation of Access to Course Module & Student Record
Your access to a Course Module will be activated within 24 hours of confirmation of receipt of the relevant Course Module Fee. You will receive an email upon successful subscription to a Course Module.
Upon activation of your first ever access to a Course Module, the Website will create a Student Record for you. This Student Record will contain/record information relating to your studies with St Cecilia, including the following, your:
Personal Details (name, date of birth, address, contact details)
Student Number (allocated by the website)
Referring teacher ID
Course Modules undertaken by you (whether successfully completed or not)
You acknowledge and accept that any of your personal information collected and held by St Cecilia, is managed by St Cecilia in accordance with its Privacy Policy as set out below.
During the Registration Process, you will be required to register a password. The Website enables you to change your password by following the procedure provided on the Website.
You are required to use this password each time you access the Course Module or Student Record.
Under no circumstances must you disclose your password to another person, or allow another person to use your password to access the Website at any time.
Duration of Access to Course Module
You acknowledge and accept that your enrolment in and access to a particular Course Module will last for a period of twelve (12) months only, commencing from the date your access to that Course Module was first activated (Enrolment Period).
An active Enrolment Period will be extended by one (1) day for any continuous period of at least six (6) hours, in a twenty four hour period, during which you are unable to access the relevant Course Module due to a failure in the functioning of the Website or the Website server (Website Failure). No extension will be given where your inability to access the relevant Course Module is due to some cause other than a failure in the functioning of the Website or the Website server. The determination of whether there has been a Website Failure in relation to any Enrolment Period, and whether and by how much an Enrolment Period should be extended, will be at the sole discretion of St Cecilia.
Use of Website to comply with St Cecilia Rules
You accept and acknowledge that at all times you access the Website, you are required to comply with the St Cecilia Website Rules (Website Rules).
You accept and acknowledge that if, at any time, you breach these Terms of Use or the Website Rules, St Cecilia may immediately cancel any or all your enrolments in Course Modules, without refund, and cancel any of your registrations for Examinations, with refund.
While it is possible to enrol in an examination conducted by, or on behalf of, St Cecilia (Examination) via means other than use of the Website (contact St Cecilia office for details), you will be given the option of enrolling in an Examination by registering on the Website in relation to the relevant Examination, and paying the relevant fee (Examination Fee). Online registration for Theory Examinations is recommended.
In the case of such online registrations, you will not be issued with an Examination result, and your Student record will not record the result, unless receipt of the relevant Examination Fee has been confirmed by St Cecilia by return email to the address recorded in your Student Record.
You acknowledge and accept that you are solely and fully responsible for your own progress, rate of progress, and success in studying any Course Module.
You acknowledge and accept that St Cecilia bears no responsibility or liability whatsoever in relation to your progress, rate of progress, or success in studying any Course Module, regardless of any of your results in any Examinations.
St Cecilia makes no warranties or representations about the Website or any of its content. We are not responsible to you or anyone else for any direct or consequential loss suffered in connection with the use of the Website. We exclude, to the extent permitted by law, any liability which may arise as a result of the Website. By using the Website, you agree to indemnify us for any loss or liability arising out of your use of the Website.
The Website and its use are governed by the laws of Tasmania, Australia.
Refunds
St Cecilia will refund a Course Module Fee only where there has been a continuous period of Website Failure of thirty (30) days – refund of a Course Module Fee will not be made in any other circumstance.
St Cecilia will refund an Examination Fee only where, due to circumstances under the direct control of St Cecilia, you are unable to sit, or are prevented from sitting, an Examination for which you are registered and have paid the relevant Examination Fee – refund of an Examination Fee will not be made in any other circumstance.

St Cecilia owns the intellectual property, including copyright, in all content of the Website.
We are happy for you to link to the Website. It is your responsibility to maintain the currency of your links to the Website. We reserve the right to deny any person permission to link to the Website.

St. Cecilia collects information concerning students and employees in the course of providing music tuition and examinations. It is the intention of St. Cecilia to collect, use , store and disclose personal information in a fair and responsible manner that respects privacy and confidentiality principles.
The information collected by St. Cecilia is used for planning and the administration of students’ courses and examinations. Only basic information is collected and required by the School for this purpose.
St. Cecilia has security procedures in place to protect personal information from misuse and loss, and from being seen, changed or disclosed by people who are not authorised to do so. St. Cecilia endeavours to ensure that information is accurate and up-to-date.
Individuals have the right of access to information held about them and to have records amended if the information is incorrect, incomplete, out of date or misleading.
Great care is taken to protect students’ and clients’ personal information from misuse when publishing information on the website and other publications made available to the community.
Information Automatically Logged
St Cecilia may make a record of your visit and logs the following information for statistical and business purposes: the user’s server address, the user’s domain name, IP address, the date and time of visit, the pages accessed and documents downloaded , the previous site visited, and the type of browser used.
St Cecilia does NOT ever collect your credit card details, and does not store such details in any St Cecilia records, All credit card transactions on the St Cecilia Website are handled securely by our secure gateway company www.camtech.com.au.
If you are not a St Cecilia student or a St Cecilia staff member and you send us a message, St Cecilia will record your email message.
Information Automatically Logged
The St Cecilia website has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse, and unauthorised alteration of the information on the website.
A login name and password are required to visit secure areas, and before personal information (such as examination results) are published on the site, visitors are required to enter their only username and password. This is to ensure that theinformation is displayed only to the intended person. You should ensure that your password is kept securely and cannot be discovered by anyone else.

All academic/research surveys conducted by St Cecilia staff, which involve the collection of personal information, will have received approval from the St Cecilia Head of School. Contact details for the Head of School will be included in each survey instrument.
Some of our online surveys may ask visitors for unique identifiers (like login identification).
Contact information from the surveys may be used to get in touch with the visitor when necessary, for example to follow up on any issues identified by the visitor.
2. Use of personal Information
Personal information you supply online will be used by St Cecilia staff in conducting the business of St Cecilia. Such uses include matters related to student administration, provision of services and the dissemination of information to staff and prospective or current students and remaining in contact with graduates. St Cecilia Website Rules
Access to the St Cecilia's Website is available to students for teaching, research and administrative purposes, and for other specifically authorised activities.
Students are entirely responsible for their own Student Records and any actions or materials resulting from any use of their Student Records.
St Cecilia reserves the right to withdraw the availability of the Website without notice.
Students may use only those pages of the Website to which they have been given specific access by St Cecilia or which have been advertised for general student access, and to the extent and in the manner that they are authorised to use them.
Students are not to assist persons who do not normally have access to any part of the Website to obtain such access.
The following uses and/or activities are not permitted:
Any use not related to St Cecilia teaching, learning and research, unless specifically authorised by St Cecilia. If a student is unclear of his/her access for purposes unrelated to St Cecilia teaching, learning and research, clarification should be sought from the Head of School.

Use of the Website for the deliberate or negligent preparing, storing, displaying of racist, pornographic or other offensive material, or the deliberate receiving or transmitting of racist, pornographic or other offensive material
Use of the facilities to harass any person (whether within or outside St Cecilia) or interfere with their work, for example, the sending of obscene, abusive, fraudulent, threatening or repetitive messages, as well as unsolicited non- St Cecilia work-related email
Tampering with other users' Student Records in any way, including attempting to thwart the Website system security, setting password traps, and any other behaviour designed to interfere with other users' access to the Website.
Use of other users' Student Records, a false identity or another person's identity to gain access to any aspect of the Website.
Allowing or assisting another person to obtain access to resources or information not authorised.
Deliberately or negligently interfering with the operation or performance of the Website by:
generating excessive load, use of storage capacity, network traffic, etc
physically damaging or adjusting the equipment. Any such tampering, vandalism, theft or wilful and/or reckless damage may be referred to the police

Activities that impact adversely on the St Cecilia’s reputation.
St Cecilia wishes to maintain a secure, efficient computing and communications environment. It has the right to examine all computer files and to monitor computer usage to ensure compliance with these rules.
If necessary, computer processes that are actively causing a problem will be terminated, or access to any files related to a breach of the rules removed.
Students found in breach of these rules are liable to immediate suspension or cancellation of access to the Website, or any Course Module, without refund of fees paid.
